trampoline and twenty-seven 🤸

This is what occurred in August:

happenings

  • Strapped a canoe onto the CRV (on two separate occasions).
  • Celebrated my grandmother’s birthday in Halifax.
  • Met with a very high level engineer and he called my AI analogy “apt”!!
  • Lost my wallet and found security footage of the thieves.
  • Went on a very difficult hike with Ashley during a heat wave.
  • Put up a tarp in our living room to combat the afternoon heat.
  • Participated in the annual bike race and placed fourth (it was prom themed).
  • Had my birthday at a trampoline park and thoroughly enjoyed it.
  • Baked some truly delicious carrot cake muffins.

learnings

north should be up

I get a much better sense of direction when I configure my Google maps to have a fixed orientation (so north is always up):

Even though it’s not always pointed in the direction I’m going, it gives me a much better idea of where I am on the island.

what I’m eating

I’ve realized that my intuition for how much I’m eating is widely inaccurate. The gap between how much I think I’ve eaten and reality is huge!

This revelation has come after tracking my macros for a couple weeks (with this app). More on that next month!

long weekend birthday

Here are the years my birthday will fall on a long weekend:

  • 2025 → 27 (this year!)
  • 2031 → 33
  • 2036 → 38
  • 2042 → 44
  • 2053 → 55
  • 2059 → 61

content!

  • here’s a good ai take
  • here’s pewdiepie discovering linux:
    • pt 1
      • pt 2
  • some cooking tips
  • these are the movies I watched this month:

end

And that’s all I cobbled together for this month 😮💨

See you in October!
